Architecture through Metamorphosis.
A place stops being itself on account of the metamorphosis which necessarily accompanies Architecture.
This metamorphosis happens invariably, due to the alterations that are required, even though Architecture is something that, necessarily, moulds and adapts to place.
Sometimes a necessary metamorphosis in a landscape, whether it is radical or not, may create favourable and sometimes demanding opportunities, that the Architectural project must adapt to, while also clarifying and reinforcing that Landscape.
The Art Gallery that we are designing for Hefei is a complete metamorphosis.
A metamorphosis of the Landscape.
A metamorphosis of the dynamism which it brings to the landscape.
A metamorphosis like evolution and the progress of Humanity.
Landscape and Built Form merge, making one indiscernible from the other.
Such is Architecture: Metamorphosis in an evolving sense, that is sometimes disruptive.
